Welcome to the Westlake Yacht Club Junior Program! We offer a unique and exciting program for young people aged 9-18. No experience necessary to participate and open to the public. We teach juniors how to rig, sail and ultimately to race; encouraging participation in our monthly regattas throughout the year.
Our juniors learn how to sail on RS Teras, Lasers, CFJ’s (Flying Juniors) and Catalina 14’s.
Westlake Lake is an excellent place to learn the basics of sailing because it is protected from large boating traffic, not at risk to strong winds and uncontrollable ocean currents. This lake is ideal to lay a foundation of basic sailing and racing skills.
